CALL FOR ENTRIES
For PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP with the ARTSPACE ARTISTS ASSOCIATION (AAA)
Next Submission Deadline:September 1, 2008

All entries must be submitted through www.callforentry.org (CaFÉ). Using CaFÉ is free to artists. Application fees for individual calls will be collected when you submit your application. Application fee for Artspace Artists Association membership is $30.

Two-Stage Jury Process
Stage One: Standards Committee members select the first tier of finalists through CaFÉ.
To Apply for Membership, artists must submit the following on www.callforentry.org:
1. Completed Jury Application
2. Ten images representing applicant’s best work produced during the last three years.
3. Resume
4. Artist Statement
5. Artist Biography
6. Application fee of $30

Stage Two: Finalists will be instructed to bring 8 original works of art to Artspace for review. The Jury will consist of three regional jurors unaffiliated with Artspace (artists, museum curators, university art professors, gallery owners, or other arts professionals).
In both stages of jurying the jurors will be looking for professionalism and quality of work. The criteria includes:
1. Competence – mastery of medium and draftsmanship, technical excellence
2. Visual impact – excitement, originality
3. Body of work – there should be a distinct body of work with a consistent level of exploration within the samples provided for jurying. The jurors are looking for work that has not been mass-produced.
4. They will be looking at your resume and written information as evidence of your professional work as an artist.
