PROJECTS ARCHIVE

WALL WORDS
Collaborating Service Organization: Raleigh Girls Club
Instructor: Morag Charlton
The images on display are part of a book created by eighteen girls from
the Raleigh Girls Club under the instruction of artist Morag Charlton.
The girls wanted to create a book for young and beginning readers, ages
3-5 years, that tells the story of color. Each page of the book is an
exploration of a different color. The youths used magazines, drawings,
text, and most importantly, their imaginations to tell the story.
Favorite Colors can be purchased at Artspace for $7 per copy. All
proceeds support the Artspace Outreach Program.
Morag Charlton was born and raised in Cape Town, South
Africa. She studied Fine Art at the University of Cape Town, Ruth Prowse
School of Art and the University of New Mexico. Over the past fifteen
years she has taken part in numerous solo, group, juried, and invitational
exhibitions as well as completed commissions for businesses and private
individuals. She is a member of the Burning Coal Theatre Company and designed
and created sets for four of their productions, Einstein's Dreams,
Romeo and Juliet, A Doll's House and Travesties. She has
