VOLUNTEER/INTERNSHIPS

Volunteers are important to the success of Artspace. By sharing their time and talents, volunteers make it possible for Artspace to efficiently run large programs like the Artspace Summer Arts Program.  

Artspace has a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for people ages 16 and up. Volunteer assignments at Artspace may be used to satisfy community service requirements for schools in the Wake County School System and for businesses with established volunteer programs.

As an Artspace volunteer, you can earn "Volunteer Dollars" redeemable for discounts on classes and purchases of artwork and for promotional items, like Artspace tee shirts. Volunteer Positions Currently Available at Artspace

Event Support: Bartenders (no mixed drinks - wine, beer and soda) during First Friday Gallery Walks. First Friday of every month, 2 available shifts: 5:45-8 p.m. or 8-10:15. Can bring a friend to help out! Bartenders are also needed occasionally for special events and fundraisers. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Become a Docent! We are currently looking for volunteer docents. Docents lead tours of groups of children or adults throughout the building while providing a brief history of the building and the organization. Docents will also take the visiting groups through the current exhibitions in addition to visiting artists’ studios. Tours predominantly take place during weekdays.

Artspace Summer Arts Program Volunteer : The Artspace Summer Arts Program runs for eight weeks from early June through early August. Volunteers are assigned to an art teacher for one week. Morning, afternoon or full-day time slots available.
